Espresso Drinks

During the writing of one of these posts between 20 and 60 ounces of coffee is consumed by the author. While Microsoft Word is firing up on my Mac, I start the first pot in one of the three coffee makers in my kitchen. I sit down and write a basic outline while drinking the first cup on my back porch. I generally will stop for a refill before beginning to write. The third cup comes as I am wrapping it up. I really love Air Roasted Flavored Coffee with cream and sugar. You can try shopping on Shoppok if you can’t find the perfect flavor for your taste.

I am not a coffee shop guy though. Sure I will stop in one if it is my only option, but I am generally pretty intimated by the whole thing. I would prefer a couple ounces of Coffeemate to frothed milk and syrups. I know that everyone likes different things though.

As servers, we must be aware of any number of things the guests may ask for. The other night I had a guest ask if we had espresso. I said we did and he asked for a macchiato. I responded that we didn’t have flavored syrups, but I could get him a cappuccino, espresso, or latte. He looked at me as if I were a moron before ordering a cappuccino. The gentleman was in fact correct. In this case I was a moron. Since I hate looking like a moron, I spent some time reading up on the topic. During this reading, I found this helpful little guide created by Lokesh Dhakar a very talented interface designer and illustrator from Baltimore.

I know the posting has been a bit slower as of late, but a few upgrades to the site are in the works in honor of our 10,000th view. Keep an eye out in the next week for two posts that will be entertaining and make this site much easier to navigate.

Ahhh…I didn’t know what a macchiato was, but when I saw it offered at a local convenience store, I figured it was the newest rage.

Well, you’re actually about where I was at this time in your blog. I started at the end of April ’09 and I didn’t get to 11,000 until the end of August. So, actually you’re ahead of me!

        Great work.
